Planets in a Box Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 October 2026

Planets in a Box runs its simulations entirely on your device. It does not collect, transmit or share any personal information. It has no user accounts, advertising, analytics or internet access. An optional Pro upgrade is bought through Google Play.

Who provides the app

Planets in a Box (Android package dk.greenleaf.planets) is provided by Greenleaf in Denmark. Contact us at [email protected] for privacy questions or requests. Greenleaf is responsible for personal information you send us directly, such as support correspondence.

Simulation data and local storage

The app computes the planets, impacts and their results on your device. It stores your preferences, cached starting states for scenarios, and any recordings of simulations you choose to make in the app's local storage. Diagnostic logs may also be written locally. None of this is uploaded to Greenleaf or anyone else.

If you save a video of a simulation, the app writes it to your device's shared Movies folder so that your gallery and other apps can find it. The video then stays there until you delete it, even after the app is uninstalled. The app does not upload or share videos itself; what you do with them afterwards is up to you.

No network, no tracking

The app does not request internet access and makes no network connections. It contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs and does not use the advertising ID. It does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or other personal data. Its only special permission is Google Play's billing permission for the Pro upgrade.

Google Play and purchases

Installing and updating the app through Google Play is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Some features are part of an optional Pro upgrade. The purchase is handled entirely by Google Play; the app only asks Google Play whether Pro has been bought on your account, so it can unlock the features. Greenleaf does not receive your payment details. Google gives Greenleaf an order record as part of normal sales reporting. Google may provide Greenleaf with aggregated, non-identifying statistics such as install counts and crash reports through the Play Console, according to the settings on your device.

Support correspondence

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to and resolve your request, and retain it only as long as needed for that and related follow-up, or to meet applicable legal requirements. Where EU data-protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in providing support. We do not sell personal information or use support messages for advertising.

Retention and deletion

Preferences, caches and recordings remain on your device until you remove the app's data or uninstall the app. On Android, you can remove them through Settings > Apps > Planets in a Box > Storage > Clear storage (wording varies by device). Saved videos in the Movies folder are removed like any other file. The app's data is not included in Android cloud backups.

There is no Greenleaf account to delete. You can contact [email protected] to request access, correction or deletion of personal information held by Greenleaf (in practice, only support emails). Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restriction, objection and portability. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, including the Danish Datatilsynet.

Children's privacy

The app does not ask anyone for their name, age, contact details or an account, and collects no personal information from any user, including children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to Greenleaf by email, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the app's data practices change, for example if online features are added, and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or store listing where appropriate.
